What's The Difference Between A Range Ball And A Regular Golf Ball?

Regardless of whether you’re a professional or an amateur golfer, if you play the sport at least once a year, you should have a good understanding of how range balls and regular balls differ. I'm going to explain the difference between range balls and golf balls, besides color.

Golf balls come in all sorts of different colors, sizes, and materials. There are all-white balls, multi-colored balls, and even glow-in-the-dark balls for use at night.

When you’re on the golf course, you’ll often hear players referring to something as a range ball.

  • What’s the difference between a golf ball and a range ball?

In simple terms, a range ball is similar to a practice golf ball. It’s used for practicing your shot, and it doesn’t have an official weight or rating.

Range balls are cheaper and less durable than regular golf balls. Range balls are specifically made to be hit repeatedly on a driving range and so they are softer than regular golf balls, which means they don’t fly as far.

The price for range balls on a driving range varies depending on the range you’re at. But it’s not that expensive and you decide the number of balls you like to hit.

Usually you buy a third, two thirds or a full bucket of balls at a time.

  • How many golf balls does it take to fill up a standard bucket?

Usually the size of a bucket is about the same at all driving ranges. I would say that there are about 30-50 balls in a regular size bucket used at most golf driving ranges.

Some golf ranges have larger buckets and then it might be about 30-50 balls in a small bucket, 50-80 balls in a medium bucket and 80-150 balls in a large bucket.

How Many Golf Balls Can You Hit In An Hour?

Golf is a sport that's been around for hundreds of years. It's one of the few sports that you can play for a lifetime and still improve. Golf is also one of the most diverse games in the world, with golf courses all over the world.

Picking up golf for the first time can seem confusing, but it doesn't have to be. Follow along as I walk you through the basics on how many golf balls to hit in an hour on the driving range.

Some guys are crazy. If you're an amateur golfer, there's a whole lot of golf balls thrown around!

But if you're serious about your game, you can get away with hitting far less balls than a typical golfer who is just trying to hit balls. I'd suggest between 50-100 balls. You can hit as few or as many as you need.

(I tend to find I hit 35 balls in the time it takes most golfers to hit 100.)

Assuming you're an average golfer, an hour-long practice session might feel like an eternity. Between water breaks and hitting balls, time flies by for others.

Hitting golf balls at the rangeDon’t just aim to hit 100 golf balls at the range every time you go. Instead, use the time you have on the range to improve your swing.

How Long Does It Take To Hit 100 Balls At The Driving Range?

A lot of people are looking to improve their golf game by spending time at the driving range. If you’re looking for a way to improve your golf game, it’s important to hit golf balls at the driving range.

Hitting balls at the driving range is a great way to practice your golf skills and improve your game. There is no better way to build muscle memories and get on track for a successful golf season than to spend some quality time at the driving range.

The only problem is that there’s no universal standard for how long you should hit balls at the range.

As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect.”

Whether you’re new to golf or a seasoned player, the driving range is the perfect place to work on your power and accuracy. But sometimes, it’s hard to know exactly what you’re working on when you hit the range.

  • You can easily hit 100 golf balls in under an hour at the driving range if your aim is to fire as many balls as possible, but why would you

What’s more important than the amount of shots you can hit in an hour is the quality in your practice. You should always have a goal for time spent on the range in order to improve your game.

When you practice your golf swing, there's a very limited time window in which you can hone a specific skill. In that short amount of time, you'll hit only a handful of shots; then move on to something new. So, be sure each practice session has a goal.

Can You Drink At Driving Ranges?

It’s not as dangerous as driving under the influence, but drinking at driving ranges is dangerous.

Golf is a sport that is full of traditions, some of which are well-known, while others remain mysterious to many players. One tradition that seems to be the focus of many golfers these days is whether or not it’s acceptable to drink beer while playing.

I’ve heard of people bringing drinks to the driving range before, but I never really gave it much thought. After all, I’m there to work on my game, not drink.

Recently, however, a friend of mine who was going to the range asked if I wanted a few. I said no.

  • It’s a big no no.
  • Don’t do it.
  • You’ll risk the safety of others.

It’s not OK to drink at driving ranges.

It would be nice, but the risk is all on you. You do the calculations.
