How To Choose The Best Golf Balls

Choosing a golf ball is tricky because it's hard to know what's going to work best for you.

There are so many factors to consider, including the price, durability, distance and material of the ball.

I've put together a guide to help you find the best golf balls for your game.

The secret to choosing the right golf ball is understanding that it's a matter of personal preference. We all have different swings and different preferences, and we're not all looking for the same thing in a ball.

Choosing the right golf ball can be confusing, but it doesn't have to be. This guide will walk you through the thought process one step at a time.

What are the most important factors to consider when choosing a golf ball? These are material, durability, distance and price.

There are so many brands to choose from when it comes to buying a pack of golf balls, and each brand claims their product is best for your game.

But which is it?

Do Golf Balls Make A Difference?

The short answer is that, yes, they do make a difference.

While golf is an incredibly unique sport that requires a combination of mental and physical skills, it still relies on its equipment to be able to deliver a quality experience for the player.

Golfers have long debated the merits of different kinds of golf balls.

  • It’s no secret that there’s a lot of variance in quality among golf balls — some are designed for durability, others for distance, and others for feel.

I used to think golf balls were just about making your game better. I’d think, “If I just get the right golf ball, then I’ll start making all the putts,” but that’s not the case.

I think the best way to know if golf balls make a difference is to play with a few different ones and see what you like. For me, I like a softer ball because it feels better when I hit my shots and I find it easier to control than a firmer ball.

What Are The Best Golf Balls To Buy?

Most golfers think that if they’re going to spend a lot of money on a golf ball, they should just go ahead and buy the most expensive golf ball.

However, this is not always the case.

When you’re playing golf, it’s all about the contact point and how well you’re able to hit the ball. If your contact point is off, then you’ll probably find it hard to get the ball to go where you want it to go.

  • The best golf balls to buy are those that are right for your game.

If you’re a beginner or a casual player, you don’t need to spend a fortune on the latest and greatest golf balls.

The best balls to buy are the ones that can keep up with your style of play. If you’re looking for a really long golf ball, then the Titleist Velocity or other similar balls is a great choice.

What Golf Balls Should I Use?

Golf balls come in a vast array of different specifications and many different models.

To make things more complicated, there’s also a dizzying number of brands and models on the market.

With so many options to choose from, how can you know what ball is the right one for you?

And what should you be looking out for?

  • The main thing to consider when choosing golf balls is your swing speed.

If you have a slower swing speed, you’ll want to use a softer golf ball, and if you have a faster swing speed, you’ll want to go with a harder ball. In general.

The type of golf ball you should use depends on your skill level and how much spin you can put on the ball. If you’re a beginner, then you want to use a ball with low spin so you can fly the ball further.

Generally speaking, you should use a ball that's designed for your skill level and that can meet your needs. For example, if you're a new golfer, you may want to use a ball that's designed for beginners.

What Is The Best Golf Ball For An Average Player?

With the right set of golf clubs, you’re ready to play.

But there’s more to a successful game than just your gear. There are lessons, green fees, and weather conditions just to name a few.

However, one of the most important pieces of equipment is the golf ball you use.

Let’s say you’re a 20 handicapper…

Finding the best golf ball for an average golfer is all about finding the right balance between forgiveness, performance, and cost. If you want to take your game to the next level and enjoy more success, then you need to choose a premium ball that will help you achieve greater consistency.

What the best ball for an average golfer is can be answered in many different ways. It depends on the player’s budget, their level of play, and what they’re looking for from a golf ball.

  • The best golf ball for an average player is a golf ball that provides them with the best performance for their swing.
  • The best golf ball for a scratch golfer is a different golf ball than the best ball for an average player.
  • The best golf ball for an average player is a golf ball that gives them the best performance for the money.

For an average player, the best golf ball is the one that they like the most. If they have a lot of spin, they might like the Titleist Pro V1. If they have a lot of bite, they might like a Bridgestone e6. But there’s no one-type-fits-all golf ball.

  • The best golf ball for an average player is a personal decision.

The best ball for an average player is the ball that makes them feel most confident. There is no best ball. There are only the best balls for each individual golfer.

How To Make Custom Golf Balls

If you have the time and money, you can create your own custom golf balls that perfectly represent your brand. There are many different options out there and it’s easy to see why companies choose this route.

  • Custom golf balls are a great way to promote your brand.

Whether you’re a CEO or a small business owner, custom golf balls are a great way to get your name out there. If you have a golf tournament, or just want to give your golfing friends a fun gift, then custom golf balls will work for you.

  • Having your own brand is one of the best ways to grow your business.

Personalizing your products is a great way to get your name out there and to make people remember your brand. If you’re in business, why not personalize golf balls with your business name?

Just make sure you choose a brand and model golf ball that reflects your company's values…

Where To Find Cheap Used Golf Balls

For most golfers it's a good idea to buy used golf balls on sale because the performance of the ball has little to do with the quality of the ball. There's no reason to pay more for something that isn't going to give you a better game.

  • Used golf balls are also called lost golf balls.

Used golf balls are not as good as new ones, but they are good enough for most golfers. In fact, most golfers can play perfectly well with golf balls that are two years old or even older.

  • Buying golf balls in bulk is the best option to make sure you always have a few on hand.

You never know when you’re going to get stuck playing a round with a picky golfer who can’t seem to find his own ball. You don’t have to spend a fortune on new balls if you know where to look.

  • Where to find cheap golf balls is a common question asked by many people.

There are a few different places that you can visit in order to buy used golf balls, but before you decide to purchase them you should first consider the pros and cons of buying used golf balls.

And now to the good part.

Golf Ball Reviews — Which Are the Best Brands and Models?

Choosing golf balls can be an overwhelming experience.

There are dozens of brands and models available, which is why it's essential to read golf ball reviews.

  • Here I will give you a brief overview of some popular brands and models.

I also give you a few more in depth reviews on three of my favorite balls. These reviews should give you all the information you need to make an informed buying decision.

Make sure you read to the end of this article for the reviews...

But first, let’s start with some of the biggest brands on the market...

Taylormade

People often ask me about my favorite Taylormade golf ball and I tell them that the answer changes all the time.

For me, it’s really about the type of golf course that I’m playing at and the type of weather that I’m experiencing.

Taylormade has made me a bit sad though…

You see, the Taylormade Project (a) was a huge favorite of mine…

  • Are Taylormade Project (a) golf balls any good?

Yes!

I loved this ball!

It had a nice feel and it made me feel close to the game and the course when I played it. It gave me control of the ball and when I hit a bad shot I knew I couldn’t blame the ball.

I loved the bite of Project (a) on the green when I chipped and how it rolled when I put.

  • Does Taylormade still make Project (a)?

No, Taylormade discontinued Project (a) golf ball and this made me sad. But you can still buy used Project (a) balls if you are alright with playing with balls that are recycled.

  • What replaced Taylormade Project (a)?

Taylormade replaced the Project A ball with the Tour Response ball and you can read the full story here.

Like most brands, Taylormade offers many models. They all come with different features and different price ranges…

  • What is the best TaylorMade golf ball today?
  • What TaylorMade ball is similar to Pro V1?
  • Which TP5 ball is right for me?

I like Taylormade golf balls because they’re really durable so I can use them for a while before I need to replace them. I also like that they’re a really good value for the price because I can use them for a long time.

But, I’ve played less Taylormade since they discontinued the Project (a) ball. That ball really spoke to me...

Bridgestone

I've never been a fan of Bridgestone golf balls.

To me they don't have the same feel as Titleist or Callaway balls, and they cost more than I like to pay for them.

However, the Bridgestone e6 is a completely different ball. It's designed to have perfect spin off the tee and it's very soft on short shots.

  • Which Bridgestone golf ball is the best?
  • Which Bridgestone ball is like Pro V1?
  • What is the difference between Bridgestone golf balls?

I have tried out a lot of different golf balls, and Bridgestone e6 is a strong runner-up. I like the feel of the ball and it’s got a good grip.

A Bridgestone golf ballI don't typically buy Bridgestone golf balls but the e6 is different. It’s designed with perfect spin off the tee and it’s soft on short shots.

Kirkland

If you’re looking for a good ball for a recreational round of golf that’s going to give you spin and feel, then try out the Kirkland Signature 3-piece urethane ball at Costco.

  • Why are Kirkland golf balls so popular?

These golf balls are sold at a great price and provide you with all the performance you need to play an enjoyable round of golf.

  • Are Kirkland golf balls any good?

I've never been a fan of Kirkland golf balls though because I find them too out of touch. But, as I said, you can play an enjoyable round of golf with them…

Snell

Snell is not the biggest, but a popular golf ball brand on the market.

The balls are designed by Dean Snell who previously worked in research and development for Titleist and Taylormade. They have a great reputation for quality, and they’re some of the most durable golf balls you can buy.

I've never been a fan of Snell golf balls though because I don’t like the feel in the balls I’ve played.

The Snell Golf Company’s mission is to bring tour quality equipment to golfers like you and me at an affordable price.

I can see that golfers enjoy Snell balls, but there's more…

Vice

Vice golf balls are the perfect gift for the golf-lover in your life.

  • Are Vice golf balls any good?

Vice makes high-quality balls with the best materials and they come in really cool designs that golfers from all over the world love. I’ve been trying them at the course for a few months and they’re excellent.

Vice are balls for golfers with an attitude. They’re designed to be played with, and their packaging is designed to be played with.

A Vice golf ballVice offers a refreshing take on the golf ball market. Based in Germany, this brand is designed to be played with, and their packaging is designed to be played with. #vicegolf

Golf Balls Reviews - My Favorite Golf Balls

I like to play with used golf balls because they are much cheaper than new golf balls.

Remember, when you play with used golf balls, you do not get the same speed and distance as you would from a new one.

But if you want to play golf without spending too much money, I recommend getting used golf balls in bulk on sale.

  • Why don't you try playing with used golf balls too?

You can get a lot of fun out of it without spending a lot of money.

  • Are Titleist Pro V1 good for beginners?

The Titleist Pro V1 is one of the most popular golf balls in the world, and it's loved by pros as well as beginners.

One Last Tip On The Ball You Choose…

Here’s the last and most important tip before you settle on which ball to play on the golf course…

  • Make sure that you don’t play on different brands and model golf balls every round.

If you’re a golfer, don’t play on different golf balls every round. The reason is that each golf ball has a unique feel, and if you keep switching balls, it’s very difficult to get a consistent game.

  • You should pick a golf ball that you like and then stick with it over a long period of time.

The best way to go about selecting a golf ball is to find one that you like and stick with it for a long period of time. This way, you'll get used to the way the ball feels off the club and you won’t have to worry about adjusting to a new ball every few months.

When you play with the same ball over a period of time, you will grow accustomed to its features, you will build up your confidence and you will get a more consistent game out on the course.

I’m a strong believer in the idea that we golfers should pick a ball stick with it.

You should be a believer in this idea too...
