How I Got Into Golf

Playing golf is one of my favorite ways of exercising. I also love the aspect of socializing that comes with this game.

Playing golf is one of my favorite ways of exercising. I also love the aspect of socializing that comes with this game.

Many of my friends were experienced golfers and had played the game for many years. These friends had the most significant influence on me taking up golf. I had been asked many times before to pick up golf and finally I gave in…

My friends were patient and guided me through the nitty-gritty of the game in the beginning and they changed my mindset about golf. I also had a wife who was being very supportive with the first steps on my golf journey.

Joining the golf club was a real game-changer for me and I got introduced to, and got to know, other more experienced golfers. I was surprised by how nice these people were. They shared experiences with me and what they had been through in the beginning when they first got into golf.

Golf is a game associated with many misconceptions but is one of the best games you can engage yourself in. It relaxes your mind and is good exercise. One way to succeed in this game as a newbie is to get yourself past the intimidating stage and appreciate the golf game's actual value. You have to work through the beginning stage.

It's essential to understand that golf is not that easy, especially when you are a beginner. What makes golf intimidating and complicated for a beginner should be taken seriously. At times, you can end up getting overwhelmed.

Fortunately, there is hope that every golfer will come around eventually, just like I did. We were all at some particular point lousy golfers. Many of us now strive to improve our skills on the golf course and we are enjoying ourselves.

To navigate through this process, I was a bit lucky to have support from close friends who had enough experience to guide me through the basics. The way I made it through this phase and emerged strongly enough was by not hesitating to ask for help from friends and other golfers. This made a huge difference to me.

My introduction to golf has had a significant influence on my life ever since. First, I was privileged to meet new friends and interact at a closer personal level. Similarly, playing golf is good for me and it’s one of my favorite ways of exercising. Consequently, with golf, I’ve learned to engage my mind and to concentrate on an issue without diversions.
